Tasracing’s Responsibilities

Tasracing, which assumed governance and administration responsibilities of racing across all three codes from TOTE Tasmania on 1 January 2009, is primarily responsible for:

1. The ongoing development of racing and breeding industries in Tasmania.
2. Race club funding.
3. Provision of stakes.
4. Management of racing venues.

Under the new structure, which includes a separate Integrity Assurance Board, the three racing code councils have been abolished and their powers and functions transferred to Tasracing.

In the new highly competitive global marketplace, Tasracing is working with industry to provide a new level of business and customer focus that will ultimately see the development of new products with greater appeal to local, national and international punters.
