It is semi-final night of the Launceston Breeders Classic at the Luxbet Racing Centre.

The Launceston Veterinary Group has been a long-time sponsor of the feature and has again thrown its support behind the Launceston Greyhound Racing Club.

Ben Englund appears to have a ‘Ted Medhurst like grip’ on the Series with five of his Destini Fireball – Miss Hetti youngsters lining up in the semis after dominating the qualifying heats.

The first semi looks the most open, matching Wynburn Boxer up against the second fastest qualifier of the series Like ‘Em All (29.84 seconds), trained by Blake Pursell.

Wynburn Boxer exploded down the back stretch in its heat recording a smart 29.91 seconds but is likely to be giving Like ‘Em All a healthy start.

Posh Amber (30.00 seconds) will be shooting for a hat-trick for Anthony Bullock while the David Crosswell-prepared Fernando Bolt ran a stylish 30.02.

Wynburn Geri and Winklee Dutchy look stand outs in Semi-final Two.

Wynburn Geri (pictured) ran a scintillating 29.93 seconds from box three in the heats while Winklee Dutchy recorded a highly competitive 30.15 seconds for trainer Ted Howard.

Semi-final three looks a match race between Wynburn Mustang and She’s A Fernando.

The Crosswell-trained Fernando Bale – She’s All Class bitch returned from a three-month spell to run 30.10 seconds while Wynburn Mustang was just a half length slower.

The top seed for the Breeders Series is Wynburn Cutie.

The white and fawn bitch is unbeaten on the track from three starts, and her career record stands at six victories from seven outings.

Her personal best race time is an exciting 29.63 seconds set in her 8.25 length victory on August 14 but in her Qualifying heat she sliced another 1/10th of a second off that mark.

Fernando Gold, Leo Jet and Wynburn Lucifer appear left to fight it out for the last remaining spot in the Final.
