The cream rose to the top at Sunday evening’s harness meeting at the Luxbet Racing Centre in Launceston. Tasmania’s leading drivers staged a clinic, winning every event on the bumper 12-race programme.

Rohan Hillier led the way with four winners in the back half of the meeting.

Svensson, trained by Brent Parish, started the ball rolling for Rohan, the three-year-old filly leading all-the-way to score by 6.3-metres in race eight for owner Mark Panton.

Hillier followed up in the next, with the Panton bred and raced American Ideal-Tantallon gelding Run Wick, flying home late to clinch the Island Block and Paving 2YO Golden Slipper. Chirac stormed down the outside in a slashing final-quarter of 28.54-seconds to claim the gallant mare Spitfire Rose in the shadows of the post over 2200-metres, recording its fourth win of the season for trainer John Castles.

But Rohan left the best till last. Im Barney Rubble (pictured) was in search of its first victory since putting two wins together through December and January. After a run of 11 outs, the nine-year-old bounced back, thanks to a gem of a drive through along the pegs.

Gareth and Todd Rattray went into the meeting locked together on 78 wins apiece and came out the other side level on 80. Gareth notching up wins with Tisu Spirit and Jilliby Gigi while Todd got the job done with Kvitova Leis and God Sake.

Rohan Hadley landed the prize with race favourite Paint The Wind and then landed a knock out blow for punters when Jean’s Mattjesty saluted at $18.50.

Ricky Duggan timed his run to perfection with the Dick Eaves prepared El Jays Mystery coming from last, out six-wide on the track while John Walters completed back-to-back wins with the Shelley Barnes trained Saywhat.

Watch El Jays Mystery come from the tail of the field to score a last-stride victory in Race 6.
