The Launceston Pacing Club will stage the first of three consecutive Friday night meetings tonight.

Two first starters in the state in the third event will add plenty of interest to the race. Levi Jimmy has done the majority of his racing in the Bathurst area of New South Wales. The Million Dollar Cam gelding has only won one race from 10 attempts. That win was as a two year old in the consolation of the Bathurst Gold Crown. His most recent start was at Penrith on March 23 when beaten by a metre after leading.

The other interesting runner in the race is the Brent Parish-trained Diddley Bow. The well-travelled Somebeachsomewhere gelding started his racing career in Victoria in 2014 before finding his way to Queensland where he won two races. In August 2015 Diddley Bow found his way to country New South Wales and then back to Western Victoria which has seen him make a few starts in South Australia. At his most recent start at Charlton on May 1, Diddley Bow finished fourth, beaten by 4.4 metres.

The best of the other starters on their form is the Michael Laugher-trained The Village Sneak (pictured), last-start Hobart winner Itsnotalwaysaboutu and Herbie Haze who has drawn outside the front line.

Another pacer to cross Bass Straight is Jakalija in race seven. The Stonebridge Regal gelding has found his way to the Longford stables of Todd Rattray. Yet to be placed in four starts Jakalija has shown gate speed to lead in his past two starts both of which were in Canberra.

Jakalija has been installed as equal favourite with Why Went Wong in early markets with Avalon Ava and Giveit To Me all in the market.

Races 2, 7 & 8 will be broadcast on Sky Racing 1 with races 1, 3 to 6 to be shown on Sky Racing 2.

All races will be available via live stream at tasracing.com.au

The first of eight races is set down for 6:46pm.
