The Wayne Williams-trained Frosty’s Capable bounced back after a 3-month absence from the winner’s list, with a powerful come-from-behind victory over the Launceston 600-metre trip on Monday night at the Luxbet Racing Centre.

The son of Milldean Panther was well supported in the betting, sent out as favourite at $2.30 with the Paul Hili trained Kinloch’s Fox as the second elect at $3.40.

Frosty’s Capable began slowly from box two and was third last at the judge’s box on the first occasion and was checked before tailing back to last on the turn out of the home straight.

Facing the task of running down the tearaway leaders Wynburn Toro and Surf The Artic, Frosty’s Capable knuckled down to the task and started to reel in the pair coming off the back straight.

Frosty’s Capable, in search of his 13th win, was given a saloon passage along the rail on the home corner after Adam’s Gun caused interference to several runners, ending Wynburn Torro’s chances.

The verteran of 95 races dashed through in the home straight to grab the lead and score by 2 ½ lengths on the line from Kinloch’s Fox in the time of 35.47 seconds.
