HEATS of the Greyhound Owners Trainers and Breeders Association of Tasmania Series headline Thursday night’s program at Luxbet Park in Hobart, conducted in three divisions over 461 metres.

The G.O.T.B.A.T Division 1 Series has 16 of the state’s best sprinters engaged including the in-form duo of Dark Casio and Long View Belle both vying for supremacy in a bid to reach next week’s final.

Stylish Nic, winner of the Illingworth Classic for Relbia trainer Tony Dawson, returns to the Luxbet Park venue after powering to victory in the Easter Cup back in April.

Corporate bookmakers have installed the star performer as the $2.40 favourite to take out the first heat from box one in race seven, the third leg of the quadrella.

A winner at 11 of his 24 starts, the Dawson family will be hoping the son of Fabregas and Stylish Abby can continue his spectacular form and they are entitled to be confident on the strength of his recent winning efforts and his fast finish providing a second place behind Cosmic Heir last week at Devonport.

Stylish Nic will face tough opposition in the first heat from Dark Casio (box three), an impressive winner over the 461-metre trip last Thursday in Hobart, recording  26.23 seconds from box three.

The Ted Medhurst-trained daughter of Razldazl George is capable of causing an upset if trouble occurs to the favourite while Wynburn Alpha (box eight) and Chief Jetpilot (box six) will rely on their box manners to place themselves in the mix.

The first four placegetters from each of the two heats will progress through to the final, with two fifth placegetters to make the reserves.

Five heats of the G.O.T.B.A.T Division 2 Series and two Division 3 heats will also take place on the program which promises to deliver a great night of racing.

Thursday night’s meeting at Hobart gets underway with the first race set to jump at 7.22pm.
