Punters will be placing their faith in trainer Susan Gittus to get off to a flying start tonight at Luxbet Park in Hobart.

Shadrack, a speedster from the Magic Sprite – Cover Girl litter, has come up with an ideal draw in the red box in the opening race on the card over 340 metres.

The Susan Gittus trained youngster saluted over 278 metres on debut in Launceston on August 7, accounting for Rivenlee Lad, before running a close second to Tyler Lee in Hobart three days later.

Shadrack finished runner-up at its next outing a week later behind Leo Jet and has since enjoyed a three-week freshen up in readiness for tonight’s assignment.

The early speed Shadrack possesses and the advantage of the inside alley over 340-metres in Hobart points to the old street corner whisper of backing race one number one.

The Ted Medhurst prepared Cosmicly Baroque is the class runner of race seven, the Gr5.

The Cosmic Rumble – Come Over Nova chaser has won seven of his 28 starts including three victories on the track and has also run bold races against quality greyhounds such as High Treason, Two Bills and Silver Drone.

Cosmicly Baroque just needs an ounce of luck into the first corner as he is likely to drop out from box five and then work to the outside of the field to make his run.

The powerful chaser will be winding up out wide around the home bend and with a best time of 26.12 seconds on the track looks one of the best bets on the programme.

The Noel Vince Memorial is the feature race on the card with last week’s top-grade winner Ruby’s Flame, trained by Blake Pursell, in search of back to back victories against a classy field headed by Casio lad, El Grand Amigo, Wynburn Toozie and High Treason.

Catch all tonight’s action from Luxbet Park, commencing at 19.13, via the live stream service at tasracing.com.au
