The Greg Fahey Middle Distance Championship Final headlines tonight’s exciting card of greyhound racing at the Luxbet Racing Centre in Hobart.

A sensational field will line-up over the testing 599-metre journey with a host of winning chances engaged.

The Margaret Rossendell trained Shima Sun scored a powerful victory in his heat, taking full advantage of box 1 to run 34.17 seconds, he has again drawn the coveted red alley for the final.

Inanna Star, prepared by Peter Higgins, ran Shima Sun to a neck last week in a driving finish and given its only other run on the track over the distance was a victory is sure to be in the finish.

Le Baz, trained by Mick Stringer went into the series in impeccable form having won six of its last eight starts, including a victory over Mahalo Miss, but disappointed in his heat running fourth, beaten by 4 ¼ lengths.

However, the son of Spring Gun – China Lady is more than capable of bouncing back in the final given the speed maps show him with both the fastest first split and overall time of 34.09 seconds to his credit.

Celtic Kid, prepared by Shirley Sutcliffe, has notched up seven wins on the Hobart track but experienced the 599-metre trip for the first time last week running a solid third to Shima Sun, beaten by 2 ¼ lengths.

Earlier on tonight’s card, the Debbie Cannan trained Bambalam Brandy looks set to break through for its first southern win in race two.

The former Victorian chaser has been a model of consistency since arriving in the state, winning two and being placed five times from just nine outings.

Speed maps show Bambalam Brandy clearly has the best average first split and is likely to take some running down.

First race tonight is set to jump at 19.22 pm with all the action available on Tasracing’s Live Stream TV.
