The 2017 Harness Yearling Sale has attracted 27 yearlings from many of Tasmania’s leading breeders and studmasters, from some of the best maternal families on the Island. The list includes 10 entries from champion horseman Barrie Rattray, including several youngsters closely related to dual Inter Dominion champion Beautide.
With all Tasmanian Sires Stakes finals increased to $40,000 this season, and rising to $50,000 in 2019, vendors and buyers now have more incentive than ever to be involved in the Harness Yearling sale.
All buyers will be able to utilise Tasbred breeding incentives to purchase yearlings. The incentives that can be used are the Breeders Coupon and the Tasbred Owners Breeding Incentive (TOBI).
Full details of each yearling are available via the 2017 Harness Yearling Sale Lot page. The process for purchasing commences by contacting the vendor by email or phone from the details contained in each individual lot.
The yearlings are eligible for many futurity series including Tasbred (26 yearlings), Breeders Crown (20 yearlings), Vicbred (11 yearlings) and NSW Breeders Challenge (3 yearlings).
A $2,000 first win bonus applies ($1,000 for vendor and $1,000 for owner at time of race win) to all yearlings provided that the win is achieved before the horse reaches five years of age.
