Meeting Dashboard – Launceston, Monday 24 April

21 / 04 / 2017

The Illingworth Classic Final (race 7) is the feature event at Launceston on Monday evening with some of the state’s best youngsters involved in what is a very even contest. STYLISH NIC (box 4) for trainer Anthony Dawson is racing in career best form and although he is not ideally boxed he is the one to beat. FINK RACER (box 5) and WOOSHA (box 7) for trainer Ricky Martin were both very impressive in winning their respective heat last week and both are a winning chance especially if either one leads. The Robin Grubb trio of HELLO DIAMOND (box 1), HELLO NUGGET (box 2) and SILVER DRONE (box 8) have fared well with the box draw and also have a chance. In race 3 PENNY POP (box 7) for trainer Terence Penny has very good box manners and she might be able to lead all of the way over the 278m journey. NEBRASKA BEACH (box 5) in race 4 looks to have a bit on his rivals if he is able to go straight to the front. The best on the card appears in race 6 with the Ted Medhurst-trained DARK CASIO (box 1) who should have little trouble in leading all of the way from the very ideal box draw. Suggested Quadrella (6,7 – 1 – 1,2,4,5,7,8 – 1,3,6) cost is $18.00 for a 50% dividend.
