NATALEE Emery has rocketed to seventh on the State Drivers Premiership Table after a successful weekend of harness racing. The popular driver notched up three winners to take her season’s tally to 26, leap-frogging two of the best in the business, Rohan Hadley and John Walters.

Natalee, a four-time winner of the Female Drivers Award, extended her break on Samantha Freeman for the 2016/17 season to 16. Nat’s winning run commenced on Friday night steering home a winning double for trainer Ben Yole with Washies Chance and Capture Me.

Washies Chance, first graced Tasmanian tracks on December 2 last year and has raced on thirty-three occasions during the season for nine victories. The facts suggest Nat holds the key to Washies Chance, she has been in the sulky on seventeen occasions, and remarkably, all nine wins have come when the two have joined forces.

Stable-mate Capture Me is another pacer which appears to enjoy teaming up with Natalee. The mare has won two of her last ten starts, Natalee has handled the ribbons on both occasions, at a strike-rate of 50%. On Friday night Capture Me scored by 1.3-metres at double figure odds of $11.50, still a far cry from the $98.90 blowout victory in June.

The Emery juggernaut rolled on Sunday night in Launceston. Punters following Nat’s purple patch of form did not have to wait long to reap their reward.

In the opening race on the card, Only A Myth (pictured) trained by Gary Freeman showed speed from the centre of the front line before being headed by Shadow Control. Nat elected to sit in behind the leaders over the 2200-metre trip until heads turned for home. Easing away from the pegs at the top of the straight, Only A Myth quickly gathered in the front runners and went on to score convincingly.
