The 2025 Tasmanian Greyhound Awards recognise the performances of greyhounds, trainers, owners and breeders who delivered consistent results throughout the season.
Across all levels of racing, this year’s winners reflect the depth of talent within Tasmania’s greyhound industry.
Appenzell has been crowned the 2025 Tasmanian Greyhound of the Year following a standout season.
Recording 14 wins from 20 starts — all in Tasmania — Appenzell consistently performed at the highest level. Highlights included victory in the Aussie Rocks Tasmanian Gold Cup Final, along with strong performances throughout the Hobart Thousand series.
Owned by Anthony McVicker and trained by Michael Stringer, Appenzell’s progression from an interstate maiden to a leading Tasmanian chaser has been a feature of the year.
Six greyhounds were identified as leading contenders for the 2025 Greyhound of the Year, reflecting a strong year across the state.
Make It Pop
Make It Pop’s consistency across the season has been recognised with the Most Consistent Greyhound award.
With 15 wins from 29 starts and a 52% strike rate, she delivered reliable performances throughout the year, including a streak of seven consecutive wins.
Owned by Carissa Fahey and trained by Michael Pearce, Make It Pop set the benchmark for consistency in 2025.
Aston Rupee
Aston Rupee has been named Tasmania’s Leading Sire for 2025, highlighting his ongoing impact on the breeding landscape.
His progeny recorded 184 wins from more than 1,000 starts, generating over $1.1 million in prizemoney across the year.
Anthony Bullock
Anthony Bullock has been recognised as the 2025 Tasmanian Leading Trainer, finishing the season with 161 winners and more than $650,000 in prizemoney.
His kennel performed consistently across the year, with runners such as Darryl’s Choice, Buzzard Zorro and Ginger Rush contributing to a strong overall result.
Debbie Cannan
Debbie Cannan has been recognised as the 2025 Tasmanian Leading Owner, recording 79 wins across the season.
Her runners were consistently competitive throughout the year, reflected in a strong strike rate and regular presence in the winners’ list.
Peco Can
