Conduct on Social Media

Written by Staff Writers | May 15, 2026 3:38:22 AM

Participants are reminded of their ongoing obligations as licensed participants within the greyhound racing industry, particularly in relation to the use of social media and other online platforms.

We are aware of an increase in online commentary from individuals and groups opposed to greyhound racing. These posts are often designed to provoke reactions from participants. It is important to recognise that engaging in such exchanges can escalate situations and reflect poorly on both the individual and the industry as a whole.

All licence holders are encouraged to:

  • Refrain from posting or responding with content that is inflammatory, offensive, or argumentative.

  • Avoid engaging in online disputes or responding to provocation.

  • Maintain professionalism at all times when representing the industry, whether directly or indirectly.

Participants are reminded that their conduct, including on personal social media accounts, remains subject to the rules, policies, and integrity expectations of the industry. Posts made in a personal capacity can still impact public perception and the reputation of greyhound racing.

We acknowledge that it may feel unfair when criticism or misinformation is posted online. However, responding inappropriately only serves to undermine the integrity of the industry and may expose individuals to disciplinary action.

Maintaining the integrity and reputation of greyhound racing is a collective responsibility. Participants are encouraged to exercise restraint, professionalism, and good judgement in all online interactions.

If you are unsure about appropriate online conduct, the best course of action is not to engage.

Thank you for your cooperation.
