Tasracing, in conjunction with the Harness Industry Forum (HIF), is pleased to confirm the implementation of the 2026/27 Code Funding Allocation, effective from 1 October 2026. The following initiatives form part of this year’s allocation:
Base Stakes
All current $9,700 races will be increased to $11,000.
Second Tasbred Bonus
From January 1, 2027, a Second Tasbred Bonus will be introduced for Tasbred eligible horses of all ages. The $10,000 bonus will be paid wholly to the owner by way of $8,000 cash and a $2,000 breeders coupon. Payments will be made to eligible horses on their first win in a subsequent season following the season in which they receive a first win bonus.
Beautide/Golden Alley
The Golden Alley for three- and four-year-olds run at Hobart on Tasmania Cup night will receive an increase from $40,000 to $75,000. Under an agreement between Tasracing, the Tasmanian Trotting Club and the Launceston Pacing Club the $80,000 Beautide will now remain at Launceston until at least 2029.
