Supporting Local Clubs | Racing Gives Back

Each year, Tasracing gives away over $100,000 in prizes to local sporting & community clubs through various initiatives – for free!

The Ladbrokes Community Sports Series (LCSS), incorporating the three thoroughbred Cup days in Devonport, Hobart and Launceston, is the headline act, and in 2026, more than 200 clubs applied for a chance to win the $10,000 grand prize.

Clubs from all demographics - cricket, bowls, rugby, dancing, football, golf and softball are just some of the examples of those that have enjoyed a great day at the races during the 2025/26 Tasmanian Summer Racing Festival.

“We’ve had a brilliant day at the races, and the $10,000 is really going to help us with our emerging sides and the ongoing costs of running the club,” said the Penguin Cricket Club after Gladding’s win secured them the Devonport leg of the LCSS in January.

Across all three racing codes and in partnership with various racing clubs, Tasracing aims to bring new people to the races through its community focus and to give back to local clubs in the process.

The Dynamo race night, held annually in November in Hobart, has attracted more than 700 people across each of the three years it has run, making it one of Tasmania's most-attended harness racing meetings.

In 2025, more than 40 local clubs attended Dynamo night, sharing $15,000 in prizes, with four clubs winning a share of a pacer.

Across the state, the Tasmanian Trotting Club (Hobart), Burnie Harness Racing Club, Hobart Greyhound Racing Club and Launceston Greyhound Racing Club lead the way with annual events intended to engage local clubs in their region.

Keep an eye on the Tasracing website and social media pages for an opportunity to win some prizes for your local club and experience the thrill of live racing.

Don’t just take our word for it. The people are friendlier, and the drinks are colder. Tassie, the perfect place to race! Entries are currently closed but keep an eye on our website.
