Promising pup It’s A Wink proved why she is one of the best youngsters in training on Thursday night at Hobart, scoring an emphatic victory in her heat of the G.O.T.B.A.T Division 3 Series over 461 metres.

Continuing its red-hot form on the back of a Devonport victory over 452 metres back in April, It’s A Wink started the race favourite from box six at $2.10 with Gatwick prepared by Blake Pursell the second elect at $3.20.

The daughter of Jagger Swagger showed plenty of pace soon after the start, mustering speed to settle in second from It’s A Deal at the top turn coming off the back straight.

Facing the task of running down the leader, It’s A Wink knuckled down to the task and started to reel in It’s A Deal coming around the home bend.

Gaining a saloon passage along the rail in the home straight, the Russell Watts-trained bitch charged through to grab the lead and score by 2 ¾ lengths on the line from Gatwick in the time of 26.18 seconds.

Raced by Tyrone Whittington and Greg Sprod, It’s A Wink elevated its record to 2 wins and 2 seconds from 4 career starts.

Diamonte’s Boy started the night off well for trainer Debbie Cannan, opening his winning account on debut in the first heat jumping from box three.

Raced by Scott Jury, the son of Cosmic Rumble stopped the clock running at 26.55 seconds, defeating New Tears Angel with Keep Ya Fresh third.
