GREYHOUND INDUSTRY NOTICE:
KENNEL NOTIFICATION PROCESSING
1.PURPOSE
The Tasracing Integrity Unit (TIU) advises participants that kennel notification processing will be brought back in line with LR75B.1, 75B.2 and 75B.3, which provide:
L75B.1 A greyhound having its first start in an Event shall be prohibited from competing in such an Event within seven (7) days of the greyhound’s kennel notice being processed to the satisfaction of the TIU.
L75B.2 A greyhound having a transfer of trainer and kennels shall be prohibited from competing in an Event within seven (7) days of the kennel notice relating to the transfer being processed to the satisfaction of the TIU.
L75B.3 The periods of prohibition referred to in L75B.1 and L75B.2 hereof shall commence at 12.01am on the calendar day that the relevant kennel notice is processed to the satisfaction of the TIU.
THIS NOTICE TAKES EFFECT IMMEDIATELY
2. REVISED PRACTICES
To ensure compliance with the Local Rules, the TIU advises that kennel transfer notifications will now be recorded against the date the notification is processed, rather than the date shown on the transfer form.
This change is necessary because recording transfers as at the date written on the form can unintentionally shorten or undermine the required seven‑day stand‑down period.
To give effect to this, the TIU will apply the following processing practice: notifications lodged after business hours will be processed on the next business day.
3. TRAINER RESPONSIBILITY – SAME-DAY NOMINATIONS
Where a greyhound is nominated on the day of transfer, it remains the Trainer’s responsibility to scratch the greyhound from any relevant events.
