Discover the Thrill of Racing with Tasracing’s 5-Day Exclusive Internship!

Step behind the scenes of one of the most exciting industries in the country with Tasracing’s exclusive 5-day internship program, running from July 7th to 11th, 8:00am to 3:00pm daily, at the Brighton Training Centre. Held during the first week of the school holidays, this is a perfect opportunity for persons aged 15 years and over to gain real-world experience in the racing industry.

With only six places available, successful applicants will get hands-on experience with both horses and greyhounds, visit thoroughbred barrier trials, attend a greyhound race day, and travel between race venues, rehoming centres, and other key facilities. They’ll also explore a wide range of career pathways and hear directly from industry experts including jockeys, trainers, drivers, and more.

This is a rare chance to see what really goes on behind the scenes and take the first step toward a future in racing.

PLEASE NOTE:

Tasracing may approve or reject an application under the Program in its complete discretion including if the applicant is suspended or disqualified under the Rules of Racing or has an outstanding debt to Tasracing which is overdue to Tasracing by more than 14 days.

Before any applicant is approved under the Tasracing Internship Program, the applicant must have;

1.    Submitted to Tasracing within the time required by Tasracing a duly completed application form;

Before an applicant is approved to participate in the Program, the applicant must have;

1.    Met all of the requirements of Tasracing for entry into the Program;
2.    Entered into a Deed with Tasracing on the attached terms (this will be mailed out to successful applicants to have signed and return).

 Personal Information Protection Statement

(a)    By completing and submitting this document the Participant will be providing personal information to Tasracing.

b)    Tasracing will manage personal information the Participant provides to it in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act 2004, other relevant laws which apply to Tasracing from time to time and Tasracing’s Privacy Policy.

(c)    A copy of Tasracing’s Privacy Policy can be obtained from Tasracing or accessed at the following link - https://www.tasracing.com.au/privacy-policy

(d)    The Participant’s personal information may be disclosed to third parties where it is permitted by law (or otherwise with their consent), including law enforcement agencies, courts and other organisations which are authorised to collect it.

(e)    Where the Participant provides personal information which is “basic personal information” this may be disclosed to other public sector bodies where necessary, for the efficient storage and use of that information.

(f)    The personal information the Participant provide in connection with this document will be used by Tasracing for the purpose of processing the Participant’s application to participate in the Program and for associated purposes pursuant to the Racing Regulation and Integrity Act 2024, associated legislation and the Rules of Racing as adopted by Tasracing from time to time.

(g)    If the Participant does not do not provide to Tasracing the personal information requested by this document the main consequences for the Participant is likely to be that Tasracing may not be able to process the Participant’s application and/or the Participant’s application may be considered invalid.

(h)    The Participant has the right to access the Participant’s personal information by request to Tasracing and may be charged a fee for this service.  If the Participant considers any of the personal information held by Tasracing to be incorrect or not up-to-date, please contact Tasracing.
