Tasracing Pty Ltd, amongst other things, runs the Off the Track Tasmania (OTT) program, supporting owners acquiring retired racehorses and retraining them for new careers.

Tasracing Pty Ltd invites suitably qualified coaches, in a variety of disciplines and geographic locations in the North and Northwest of Tasmania, to join our dedicated and talented team of Off The Track Tasmania coaches.

Position Description:

Tasracing invites suitably qualified coaches in the North and Northwest of Tasmania to join our dedicated and talented team of contracted Off The Track Tasmania coaches, to deliver Subsidised Lessons for OTT horses and their riders.

Your role:

As part of our Subsidised Lessons program, you will provide a maximum of 10 lessons to each participant, of up to one hour each, via a voucher payment system.

You will provide lessons to riders in areas such as:

  • Horse riding and ground work, husbandry, horse nutrition and behaviour
  • Equestrian activities including dressage, eventing, jumping, showing, carriage driving, endurance, reining, gymkhanas/mounted games, hunts, trail and social rides, riding club and pony club activities, and other areas as negotiated relating to transitioning Off The Track horses into new careers.

Your qualifications and prerequisites:

  • Accredited qualification of a minimum EA 1 (general), or similar certified industry training as relevant to your discipline
  • Public Liability, Personal Injury and Professional Indemnity Insurance cover to a minimum of $20m
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People registration
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Suitable and safe horse coaching facilities (may be subject to inspection by Tasracing OTT team).

Your attributes:

  • Experience in retraining OTT Thoroughbred and/or Standardbred horses
  • General understanding of the racing industry
  • An alignment with the values of Tasracing Off The Track Tasmania and commitment to be a positive contributor within the Tasracing OTT coaching team

 

Remuneration:

Coaches will be paid commensurate with their EA Grade or as per their discipline renumeration guidelines, anticipated $70 per lesson (ex GST).
