Tasracing is pleased to share that MyRacehorse has expanded into Tasmania, giving more racing fans the chance to own micro-shares in a future Tasmanian racehorse. It’s a fun, accessible way to get involved and follow a horse’s journey from the paddock to the track — without needing deep pockets or decades of racing knowledge.

What’s Happening?

  • MyRacehorse will be purchasing a Tasmania-bred and trained yearling at the 2026 Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling Sale

  • It will be the first official MyRacehorse runner developed entirely in Tasmania

  • The goal is to make racehorse ownership more inclusive and celebrate homegrown talent — horses, trainers and racing fans alike

What’s in It for Owners?

With a micro-share you can:

  • Follow the horse’s progress with regular updates

  • Cheer them home on raceday

  • Be invited to occasional owner experiences

  • Receive a proportionate share of prizemoney, if the horse performs

  • Connect with a community of enthusiastic racing supporters

And because the horse will be Tasmanian-bred, it may also be eligible for TasBred bonus incentives throughout its career — giving it even more to race for.

Why This Is Good for Tassie

More owners means stronger engagement with the sport — and more support for local breeders, trainers and the wider industry.
It’s about bringing more people closer to the action and highlighting what makes Tassie racing special.
