The Beautide

Tasmania’s qualifying race ‘The Beautide’ will be run at Hobart on Saturday 2nd August over 2090m. Eligibility and barrier draw conditions will remain the same as in 2024:

The race will be for 3YO and 4YOs only.
The horses must be TASBRED, or
100 percent owned by a Tasmanian resident/s for no less than 12 months prior to the Eureka race in September and 100 per cent trained by a licensed Tasmanian trainer for no less than six months prior to the Eureka race (March 2024).

Barrier Draw: PBD/AGE/SEX

The field size will be 10 plus two emergencies.

The winning horse will receive the Tasracing slot.

The Tasracing Eureka Selection Panel (TESP) will be responsible for the selection of the final field of the qualifying race.

The TESP will comprise of the Tasracing Chief Racing Integrity Officer / Chairman of Stewards and Tasracing Integrity Unit (TIU) staff as determined by the Tasracing Chief Racing Integrity Officer and the Tasracing CEO and Tasracing staff.

The final make-up of the qualifying race field will ultimately be determined by Tasracing to ensure compliance with the Racing Regulation and Integrity Act 2024.

Nominations for the qualifying race will open at 9:30 am Monday 14 July 2025 and close at 9:30 am on Monday 28 July 2025.

PROGRAMME ABBREVIATION ‘3C‘ – 3YO Concession – Tasracing Integrity Unit Handicapping Schedule
13.3 3YO Concession
If stipulated in a race a 3YO is entitled to a concession of upto eight (8) points to be deducted from its rating points no lower than the front rating of the race.

13.4 2YO Concession
If stipulated in a race a 3YO is entitled to a concession of upto ten (10) points to be deducted from its rating points no lower than the front rating of the race.

NB: The 2YO or 3YO concessiosn cannot be used in conjunction with a Driver or Mares concession.

Standing Starts – Australian Handicapping Rules
2.3 Automatic Handicap Race
A standing start race in which 5 rating points incrementally equates to 10 metres, e.g., if horses rated 50 start from the Front, 55 from 10 metres, etc.

DUAL CONCESSIONS
11.1.4 A Filly or Mare Concession may be used in conjunction with a Driver Concession for
rating races with a front of 50 or better, where programmed. The minimum rating
utilising a dual claim cannot be less than NR50.
