Race Meetings
The 2025/26 season will be conducted over four race meetings, scheduled for the following dates in January 2026:

  • Saturday, 3 January
  • Saturday, 17 January
  • Saturday, 24 January (King Island Cup Day)
  • Saturday, 31 January

Please note: Final confirmation of these dates is subject to transport availability. If required, the 3 January meeting may be rescheduled to 10 January to accommodate freight logistics. Further advice will be provided in due course.

Starter Subsidy
To assist trainers with the costs associated with participating in the King Island racing season, a $500 per-start subsidy will be made available to trainers for all horses (thoroughbred and standardbred) competing during the season.

This initiative is jointly funded by Tasracing and the King Island Racing Club. The subsidy will be administered by Tasracing and paid directly to trainers after each race meeting.

A formal set of Terms and Conditions will apply to the starter subsidy and will be made available shortly.

Prizemoney
Prizemoney for both codes will remain consistent with the 2024/25 season. No changes are proposed to stakes levels.
