Racing.com broadcast schedule locked in

Tasracing has announced the dates of five thoroughbred meetings that will be broadcast on Racing.com in the final quarter of 2026.

Tasracing’s current media rights deal with Sky Channel, which started on 1 January 2026, has an FTA (free-to-air) allowance for 10 Tasmanian thoroughbred meetings each year to be broadcast live.

Five Tasmanian meetings were broadcast on Racing.com in the first half of 2026, beginning with Ladbrokes Devonport Cup Day in January.

The remaining five meetings are:

  • Friday 25 September – Launceston (night)
  • Friday 2 October – Launceston (night)
  • Friday 9 October – Launceston (night)
  • Friday 20 November – Launceston (night)
  • Sunday 27 December – Hobart (day)

Tasracing CEO Andrew Jenkins said the Racing.com coverage would further showcase some of Tasmania’s biggest race meetings and thanked Tasracing’s principal broadcast partner, Sky Channel, for its flexibility in finalising the arrangements.

“We are thrilled to have the beginning of the 26/27 Launceston Night Racing season broadcast on Racing.com, and the two feature meetings during the Ladbrokes Summer Racing Festival will highlight the state’s best horses,” he said.

“We’re mindful of the complexities of race scheduling, and we’re grateful that Sky Channel has worked with Tasracing on race times to enable Racing.com coverage.”

The Launceston meeting on 20 November is the start of the Ladbrokes Tasmanian Summer Racing Festival, and will include the Listed $150,000 Tasmanian Newmarket, and the $150,000 3YO Cup, which will be run at Listed level for the first time in 2026.

Sky Channel has confirmed that the 26/27 Launceston Night Racing season will again be covered on Sky Thoroughbred Central, as has been the case for several years.

The night season begins in Launceston on Wednesday, 16 September.
