The 2026/27 greyhound racing season will feature a strong mix of feature racing, showcase meetings and key public holiday race dates across Launceston and Hobart.
With the transferred Devonport meetings continuing in 2026/27, Launceston will host 28 of these meetings, while Hobart will host the remaining 24.
The 2026 Group 1 Hobart Thousand will continue to be held in December, with heats to be conducted on Thursday 3 December and the final to be run on Thursday 10 December.
The Group 3 Ladbrokes Chase will again be held in January, with heats scheduled for Thursday 7 January and the final to be run on Thursday 14 January as a showcase Thursday night meeting.
The 2027 Group 2 Launceston Cup will remain in its Monday night timeslot, with heats to be held on Monday 25 January and the final on Monday 1 February.
Launceston will also host two Thursday night meetings on Sky 1 on 6 and 13 August 2026, aligning with the National Sprint and Distance Grand Finals. Hobart will host two Monday night meetings on 3 and 10 August 2026 as part of the transferred meeting schedule.
Launceston has also been allocated two Tuesday evening meetings, on Melbourne Cup Day, Tuesday 3 November 2026, and Australia Day, Tuesday 26 January 2027.
Hobart is scheduled to host the Good Friday meeting on 26 March 2027 as a dual-code meeting with the Tasmanian Trotting Club, with eight greyhound races programmed for the meeting.
The 2026/27 calendar includes one additional meeting year-on-year, with Hobart Greyhound Racing Club gaining a Christmas Eve meeting.
